Adjacent to the 45 West Distillery is Burleighs wood, a natural woodland reserve of outstanding beauty. Whilst walking through the woodland master distiller, Jamie Baxter, came across Silver Birch, Dandelion, Burdock, Elderberries and Iris. Enthused by his findings, these botanicals went on to inspire Burleighs unique gin recipe and it seemed only fitting that this ancient Leicestershire woodland would lend its name to our gin.

Our state-of-the-art distillation equipment is housed at Bawdon Lodge Farm, deep in the Leicestershire countryside. A location that depicts the quality and beauty of our Spirits of Adventure.
Our beautiful 450 litre copper pot still nicknamed, Messy Bessy, was custom made by Arnold Holstein of Markdorff, Germany. The design of the still, the careful sourcing of ingredients and the great skill of the distiller, all contribute to the smooth nature of our spirits.

Learn the art of distilling and create your own bottle of gin with world renowned master distiller, Jamie Baxter.
Set in the picturesque Leicestershire countryside, your 45 Gin School experience includes: A tour of the 45 West distillery, choosing and blending botanicals to create your own unique recipe, distilling your gin using a traditional mini copper pot still and bottling your unique gin ready to take home!
